The Skipper Oyster range, now including the Oyster Max are all constructed on a hot-dipped galvanized chassis using a solid beam axle with leaf spring suspension. The ultra light body is manufactured with aluminium outer panels and the inner is plywood sandwich panels making this tent trailer an absolute towing delight, weighing a mere 525kg you can see why!
The solid roof lid opens easily with gas lifters and once opened 100% cotton canvas encloses the body. The angle of the lid creates, surprisingly, more than enough head room. There are 3 windows and a door in the canvas body, creating a feel of openness and space. The inside floor plan comprises of the choice of a double bed or opt for the more practical single beds with more than enough packing space available under the beds including space for a porta-potty.
There are also lockable cupboards with loads of packing space for your clothing….more than enough for him and a little extra for her! The simple hammock shelf is suspended from the inside at the back of the lid. This is handy to store binoculars, camera’s, wallets, phones and even your toiletry bag.
There is a nifty 220V 130l fridge/freezer conveniently fitted inside the trailer out of the way of your “living area” in the tent creating a spacious Deluxe awning. Our most popular tent set up is now a standard with the Oyster Max. The Deluxe Awning attaches easily to the Oyster Max body on a rope section spanning 2100 x 3400. The rally awning zips on to the front of the Deluxe Awning 1700 x 3400. The Deluxe Awning has 5 walls to enclose this portion of the Tent and the rally awning has 2 shade cloth walls creating a veranda. All the walls are interchangeable allowing you to move walls to suite your own configuration. All of the tenting is setup on a 4m groundsheet. Travelling to a far destination? No problem. Not only does the lid pop up easily but the Oyster Max is also equipped with an over- night awning for a quick setup making over nighting an absolute pleasure.
Your Oyster Max is almost ready to go, but not without your wash line. No need to pack bulky wash lines or hang your beach towels and swim suites on guide ropes or chairs anymore. We have added our popular, extremely practical wash line which is attached to the back of the oyster, conveniently out of the way. This nifty product folds down flat for travelling purposes.
And last but not least the Oyster Max has a great look with robust and stylish 14inch aluminium mag wheels.
Can all of this fit into the Oyster Max? Absolutely! With all the extras having their own designated packing spots everything fits in perfectly.
All of this adds up to a Tare Weight of 525kg and GVM of 750kg which gives you a payload of 225kg.
A big thank you to the Macnicols at Bazley Resort for allowing us to use their beautiful park for taking the photo’s for the Oyster LTX Max!
